The Official Charts Company has announced the launch of the Official R&B UK Chart, a new weekly chart created in collaboration with culture platform Everything R&B. The chart is dedicated to showcasing homegrown British talent and new releases across the UK's expanding R&B scene.

Compiled weekly, the chart will rank the biggest current R&B singles by British artists based on combined UK sales and streams. Eligible tracks must have been released within the previous 12 months, ensuring the list remains focused on new and developing releases across contemporary R&B, neo-soul, alternative R&B, and soul-infused rap.

Founded in 2017 by KISS Radio’s DJ Ace and Billi John, Everything R&B has championed British talent, early on supporting artists such as Mahalia, Jaz Karis, Shaé Universe, Bellah, and Tiana Major9. The new chart aims to provide greater visibility, recognition, and infrastructure for the genre within the UK music industry.

Commenting on the launch, Chris Austin and Becca Monaghan, Chief Executives at the Official Charts Company, said: "The UK is producing some of the most exciting R&B music in the world, and this new chart is designed to recognise and showcase the artists driving that success. By providing a dedicated weekly chart for British R&B releases, we hope to give greater visibility to the breadth of talent emerging across the genre."

DJ Ace, founder of Everything R&B, added: "We are incredibly proud to be part of this history making moment for UK R&B and Soul. The launch of an official chart represents far more than rankings. It is a powerful acknowledgement of the talent, influence and cultural impact of R&B and Soul artists across this country."

Komali Scott-Jones, A&R Director at AWAL, noted that the chart represents "a step towards building out the infrastructure to match the genre's growing demand" and supporting sustainable careers for British artists.

The first chart will launch on Friday 11th September 2026 and be published on Monday 14th September at 9am on officialcharts.com.
