Sibling musicians Johnny and Lillie Flynn have announced their new collaborative album Beam Cottage, set for release on November 6 via Transgressive Records. Produced by Charlie Andrew (Alt-J, London Grammar), the 14-track project features a mixture of new original material, reworked selections from Johnny’s back catalogue, and covers of songs that shaped their childhood.
To mark the announcement, the duo shared a new version of "The Ghost of O’Donahue", originally featured on Johnny’s 2008 debut album A Larum, featuring vocals from South African group The Joy.
The album is named after the thatched cottage in the south of England where the siblings lived together as children before their father, actor and musician Eric Flynn, passed away. The record draws on the musical atmosphere of their childhood home, where their parents introduced them to a wide range of folk and pop music. The tracklist includes covers of songs by Paul Simon, Hank Williams, Billy Bragg, and Johnny Mercer, alongside a recording of their father's lullaby "Sleepy Head", which closes the record.
Lillie’s original track "Brockwell Park" and Johnny’s "The Music of the Spheres"—featuring pedal steel player Joe Harvey Whyte—sit alongside re-imagined duets of Johnny’s older songs "The Lady is Risen" and "Been Listening". The recording sessions feature their long-time collaborators, known as the River Band, blending acoustic guitars, fiddles, and vocal harmonies.
In support of the release, Johnny and Lillie Flynn will perform a special headline concert at London’s Royal Festival Hall on Saturday 21 November 2026. Album pre-orders via Johnny Flynn's official store grant access to an exclusive ticket pre-sale beginning Wednesday 19 August at 10am BST, ahead of general release on Friday 21 August at 10am BST.
Beam Cottage will be available on digital, CD, and vinyl formats from November 6 via Transgressive Records.
