Gilbert O'Sullivan has announced his twenty-first studio album, On The Record, set for release on 6 November 2026 via BMG. The announcement comes alongside the release of the lead single, "Growing Old Disgracefully," and forms the centerpiece of the singer-songwriter's 60 Years in Music celebrations, which include an extensive UK and Ireland tour.
The legendary artist's career spans six decades, earning three Grammy Award nominations, three Ivor Novello Awards, and a catalogue of timeless hits including "Nothing Rhymed," "Alone Again (Naturally)," "Clair," and "Get Down." His enduring approach to songwriting continues to earn praise across generations, with contemporary admirers ranging from Paul Weller and Tim Burgess to CMAT.
Produced by Andy Wright, On The Record marks a continuation of the successful creative partnership established on 2022's Driven and 2024's Songbook. Recorded at Eastcote Studios in London over just five days, the 13-track album captures O'Sullivan's trademark melodic invention and lyrical wit. The sessions brought together the same core group of musicians from his recent projects to create a cohesive sound, highlighted by tracks such as "It's Me," "No Place Like Home," and a special guest duet with Andrea Corr titled "Is That You?"
Reflecting on the record, O'Sullivan highlighted that daring to be different and prioritizing the craft of songwriting remain at the core of his musical journey. He noted that a lifelong love of music and rhythm piano continues to inspire his creative process nearly sixty years after his debut.
To mark the release, O'Sullivan will embark on his 60 Years of Music Tour throughout September, October, and November 2026. The extensive road trip will visit regional venues across the UK alongside major stops at Dublin’s 3Arena on 10 October and the London Palladium on 8 November. The concerts will combine classic hits from across his catalogue with new material from the upcoming release.
