The Royal Albert Hall has unveiled its autumn season of Classical Coffee Mornings for 2026, welcoming a fresh lineup of emerging classical talent to the Elgar Room. Building on the venue's long-standing 142-year partnership with the Royal College of Music (RCM), the series provides a vital platform for exceptional musicians in the early stages of their professional careers following sold-out winter and spring programmes.
The upcoming autumn season opens on Saturday 5 September with flautists Julia Klampfer and Serenna MacLellan, performing a repertoire bridging 19th-century romanticism and 21st-century modernism, including Valerie Coleman’s "Fanmi Imèn." On Sunday 20 September, the Nadejda String Quartet takes the stage for two recitals—including a relaxed performance with tailored access measures—spotlighting classic works by Franz Schubert and Maurice Ravel.
October focuses on standout soloists and award-winning chamber groups. On Sunday 11 October, Italian-English pianist Cecilia Committeri from the RCM Junior Department showcases works by Bach, Haydn, and Schumann. Luxembourgish guitarist Eva Schockmel performs on Sunday 18 October, presenting a personal programme centered around nostalgia and place. Later in the month, on Saturday 24 October, the AERA Ensemble brings their prize-winning chamber musicianship to the venue following recent triumphs at the Royal Over-Seas League and Manhattan International Music Competitions.
The season concludes in November with two vocal and instrumental recitals. Soprano Maryam Wocial and pianist Archie Bonham, newly named Oxford Song Young Artists for 2026/27, perform a recital exploring themes of heartbreak and grief on Sunday 1 November. Flautist Emme Hensel, Principal Flautist for the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, brings the autumn series to a close on Sunday 8 November.
