The Big Moon have released their new single, "Fun," ahead of their forthcoming fourth studio album, Forever, arriving October 30, 2026, via Fiction Records. The track serves as the second release from the London-formed band's upcoming 10-track record, following lead single "Gravity." The song explores the idea of treating pleasure with as much weight as hardship, built around the core line that fun is as complex as misery.
Frontwoman Juliette Jackson wrote the song as part of a creative shift following health complications in 2024, when she was diagnosed with a cholesteatoma that resulted in permanent hearing loss in one ear. To overcome the resulting struggle with songwriting, Jackson shifted her perspective toward writing optimistic music projected into the future. Jackson noted that joy and humor are as authentic to the human experience as dark or painful emotions, embracing a direct, hook-driven alt-pop direction for the record.
Forever follows the band's 2022 release, Here Is Everything, marking an evolution in their sound with grooving, synth-inflected arrangements. Co-produced alongside Sam Cohen at Bam Bam Studios in Norfolk, the 10-track collection addresses themes of purpose and life's fragility. Bandmate Celia Archer shared that the group hopes the record offers listeners an uplifting perspective on facing personal challenges with hope and resilience.
The Big Moon will support the album release with a UK headline tour in November 2026, taking in eight dates across the country. The run begins on November 18 at Birmingham's O2 Institute 2, visiting Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bristol, Brighton, Manchester, and Leeds, before concluding with their largest headline show to date at London's O2 Academy Brixton on November 27. Tickets for the headline tour are on sale now, following a summer run supporting Alanis Morissette on her UK outdoor dates.
