Gabriella Cilmi has announced her new album, Pure Love, set for release on 9 October 2026. Marking her first full-length record in 13 years, the project is accompanied by the release of her new single, “YRU Hanging Around.” The announcement continues a triumphant comeback campaign that began earlier this year with the title track’s premiere on BBC Radio 2, alongside a festival set at The Great Escape and a nationwide tour supporting Beverley Knight.
Pure Love represents a record made with complete creative freedom, showcasing Cilmi’s warm, expressive contralto vocals across soul, jazz, and classic rock soundscapes. Recorded live to tape at Middle Farm in Devon with producer Peter Miles, the album draws inspiration from classics like Van Morrison’s Astral Weeks and Joe Cocker’s Mad Dogs and Englishmen. Collaborators on the record include Justin Parker, Anna Krantz, Anu Pillai, DJ Yoda, Julia Church, Alex O’Shaughnessy, and Jonny Henderson.
Cilmi described Pure Love as the unfiltered, raw record she has always wanted to make, likening the songs to ripe fruit ready to be consumed after years of patience. The new single, “YRU Hanging Around,” embodies that organic approach with Muscle Shoals-inspired soul and a driving rhythm section. Lyrically, the track delivers a firm kiss-off message about realizing one doesn't need external approval or permission to live life on their own terms.
The album is available for pre-order, with physical offerings including a signed CD and an exclusive limited-edition "Goldie Locks" colored vinyl from Cilmi’s official store. The Australian singer-songwriter—who originally achieved global chart success as a teenager with her hit single “Sweet About Me” and debut album Lessons To Be Learned—is now stepping back into the spotlight on her own terms.
Alongside an upcoming appearance at Camper Calling on 29 August, Cilmi will support the release with a full UK headline tour in November. The run includes performances in Leeds, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, and a headline show at London’s Bush Hall on 24 November 2026.
