The Mission have announced the release of exclusive, newly mastered vinyl editions of their first three seminal studio albums to mark the band’s landmark 40th anniversary. Fans will be able to purchase limited-edition, one-time pressings of God’s Own Medicine, Children, and Carved In Sand, which will officially ship on 30 October 2026. Available exclusively through the band's official online store, these special versions have been unavailable on vinyl since 2017 and feature striking "aside/bside" coloured wax, deluxe artwork replication, and fresh audio mastering by engineer George Shilling.
The reissue of the band's 1986 debut, God’s Own Medicine, is particularly noteworthy as it restores the tracklist to the band's original intended running order for the first time. It also reinstates the full-length version of the fan-favourite track "Love Me To Death," correcting changes forced by the record label during the initial 1980s production. Frontman Wayne Hussey expressed his long-held frustration with the historical alterations, noting his immense satisfaction at finally seeing the record's true narrative arc properly realised for this anniversary milestone.
The subsequent albums, the gold-certified Children—produced by Led Zeppelin legend John Paul Jones—and the commercial high-water mark Carved In Sand, will also receive the deluxe treatment. Both albums have been out of print on vinyl for nearly a decade and will replicate their original high-end packaging, including embossed gatefolds and glossy laminations.
To complement the physical releases, the gothic rock veterans are embarking on special live appearances across the UK. The celebration kicks off with a sold-out headline slot at the Tomorrow’s Ghosts Festival in Whitby, followed by an ambitious four-night residency at London's O2 Forum Kentish Town in November 2026. Each night of the London residency will feature a completely unique setlist drawing from their extensive ten-album catalogue, including a full performance of God’s Own Medicine on the opening night and a final evening dedicated entirely to fan requests curated via social media.
