Jorja Smith has officially announced her highly anticipated third studio album, What Are The Odds, scheduled for release on Friday, 21 August 2026 through FAMM. To celebrate the announcement, the British singer-songwriter has unveiled her brand-new single, "Alive," featuring Nigerian superstar Wizkid, alongside an atmospheric music video directed by Gabriel Trautmann. The track, produced by longtime collaborator P2J, offers a warm, fluid blend of rich instrumentation and subtle percussion that perfectly captures the exhilaration of romance and mutual connection.

Fans will not have to wait long to hear the new material in a live setting, as the album arrives the exact same day Smith is scheduled to co-headline the All Points East festival in London's Victoria Park alongside Tems. The upcoming twelve-track record marks a distinct sonic evolution for the artist, leaning into a euphoric, dance-led sound heavily influenced by British club culture, including UK Garage, Grime, 2-Step, UK Funky, Soulful House, and Afro House. The project features sole production from P2J and includes a notable guest appearance by Grime icon Devlin, who provides a re-recorded verse from his 2010 classic "London City."

The creation of the album developed organically following Smith’s previous work with P2J on the hit track "Little Things." Meeting at an East London studio in September 2025, the duo quickly transformed two years' worth of accumulated musical ideas into a cohesive body of work across just three intense studio sessions. Independent and free from external pressures, the resulting tracklist explores deeply personal themes of growth, grief, friendship, and the unique realities of navigating fame in the public eye.

This major milestone arrives during a definitive year for the vocalist, marking a decade since her breakout debut single "Blue Lights" first introduced her voice to the world. The anniversary follows a busy season that saw her contribute to the soundtrack for the series Bait and perform during the inaugural season of Saturday Night Live UK. Ultimately, What Are The Odds represents an artist fully trusting her creative instincts and rediscovering the pure joy of making music.
