The Temperance Movement are making their long-awaited return with the announcement of their fourth studio album, 'New Promise Land Incorporated'. Scheduled for release on October 9th via Earache Records, the upcoming album marks the celebrated British rock band's first collection of all-new material in eight years. To celebrate the announcement, the band has unleashed the record's first single, 'Eat You Alive', which is available now.
Recorded in April 2026, the album was produced and mixed by the acclaimed Ethan Johns, known for his work with Kings of Leon and Laura Marling. The recording process represents a deliberate return to the band's roots, featuring live-to-tape tracking with all five musicians performing together in one room. Lead guitarist Paul Sayer explained that the band wanted to capture the raw electricity of their early days, while frontman Phil Campbell noted that the lead single reflects his personal journey from a super-urban home life in Glasgow to writing in the Somerset countryside.
The 10-track record seamlessly shifts between explosive rock 'n' roll and remarkable vulnerability, featuring tracks like the psychedelic opening number 'Shadows', the infectious drive of 'Eat You Alive', and the emotionally resonant 'Saving Grace'. The band originally established themselves as a leading force in modern British rock during the 2010s, securing multiple UK Top 40 albums including 2018's 'A Deeper Cut', which peaked at number six. After an extended hiatus, the group officially reunited on stage in 2025 to ecstatic, sold-out crowds.
The momentum is set to build throughout the summer with major festival headline slots, including appearances at Maid of Stone Festival and Steelhouse Festival in July. Following the album's autumn release, the band will embark on an extensive 21-date UK and European headline tour in November and December. The tour routing features highly anticipated stops at major venues across the country, including the Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom on November 19th and a triumphant finale at London's O2 Forum Kentish Town on December 1st.
