Alternative rock icons Pixies have officially launched a remastered reissue of Complete B-Sides: 1988-97, marking the compilation's very first pressing on vinyl. Released exactly 25 years after its initial debut on compact disc, the newly updated collection arrives as part of the band's ongoing celebrations commemorating their 40th anniversary as a group.

Originally compiled in 2001 while the band was in the middle of a decade-long hiatus, Complete B-Sides gathers 19 rare tracks from the band’s historic era with independent label 4AD between 1988 and 1991. The tracklist includes highly celebrated fan favorites such as "Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf)," "Into The White," "Bailey’s Walk," and "The Thing."

For this definitive new edition, sound engineer Kevin Vanbergen remastered every single track directly from the original analog tapes, bringing a modern clarity to the music while concluding his comprehensive restoration work across the band's entire archival catalog. The package has been designed as a double-LP set, available on standard black vinyl alongside clear and seaweed green color variants.

While the original studio tracks neatly occupy three sides of the new vinyl pressing, the fourth side treats fans to six bonus live tracks. These additions are pulled from subsequent single releases, including the band's 1997 live re-release of "Debaser."

The project features brand-new sleeve design by Chris Bigg, who utilized unearthed images from photographer Simon Larbalestier's archives that were originally shelved decades ago. The aesthetic layout honors the legacy of the band's late visual director, Vaughan Oliver.

The release lands as the influential quartet continues a massive, 40th-anniversary worldwide tour that will see them headlining major European and North American venues through September. Looking ahead, the band is also preparing to reissue remasters of their albums Bossanova and Trompe le Monde on September 11, which will feature four completely unreleased tracks discovered from their classic studio sessions.
