Indie-rock trailblazers The Snuts have announced their highly anticipated fourth studio album, Joy In Short Moments, scheduled for release on October 23 via Happy Artist Records in partnership with Virgin Music Group. To celebrate the announcement, the band has unleashed their brand-new single, "Defibrillator," an upbeat, drum-led anthem out now alongside a fresh lyric video.

"Defibrillator" explores profound thematic concepts, drawing creative inspiration from the idea of a living wake—celebrating life with loved ones while you are still around to experience it. Produced by frontman Jack Cochrane and Scotty Anderson, the track encourages listeners to show up for others, shed their egos, and lean into collective happiness.

"I wanted to write a track that detailed a conscious decision to live and love more," Cochrane explained. "To take life less seriously and dilute ego as often as possible. 'Defibrillator' is a song that celebrates the collective and trivialises the sludgy worries of being alive."

The eleven-track album signifies a deliberate step back from the frantic noise of modern life. While the band's previous releases were crafted during periods of relentless touring, Joy In Short Moments was written following a major lifestyle shift for Cochrane, who recently moved back home and became a father. The resulting collection of music stands as the band's most direct, grounded, and emotionally raw work to date.

"After three records of constant motion, I felt pulled back towards real life," Cochrane shared. "Success, failure, parenthood and loss all found their way into these songs. Joy in Short Moments is the sound of reconnecting with what matters and learning to find meaning in the small things."

The Snuts have firmly established themselves as one of the UK's most formidable guitar bands. Their debut, W.L., hit Number 1 in 2021, followed by Burn The Empire and Millennials, making them the first act since One Direction to secure three Top 3 albums in three consecutive years.

Fans can catch the band performing live at TRNSMT on June 20, with a comprehensive autumn tour set to be announced this Friday.
