Beloved Irish rock quartet Kodaline has officially announced the upcoming release of their fifth and final studio album, We Were Only Young. Scheduled to arrive on October 2, 2026, via Concord Records, the project marks the band's definitive musical farewell. Alongside the emotional announcement, the group has premiered their brand-new leading single, "Without You," across all digital streaming platforms, accompanied by an official music video.
The newly released track is a tender, acoustic love song written by frontman Steve Garrigan for his wife to perform on their wedding day. "I’ve never been much of a talker, but I can write a song," Garrigan shared regarding the track. "It became my speech, it was our first dance, and it felt too special not to share."
The frontman revealed that the overarching 12-track album was written over a turbulent four-year period, serving as a creative vessel to process major life transitions, personal loss, and the ultimate conclusion of the band. Musically, We Were Only Young weaves a diverse sonic tapestry, contrasting soft, acoustic ballads like "All I Ever Need Is You" and the gospel-infused "Learn To Lose" against driving pop anthems like "It’s Not Over" and the jubilant folk rhythms of "Vultures." The album's anthemic title track, which premiered earlier this year, has already garnered over six million streams globally.
To celebrate their multi-platinum, chart-topping career, Kodaline will embark on an extensive Farewell World Tour beginning next week. The international trek kicks off with massive, sold-out outdoor stadium performances in Belfast, Cork, and Dublin, where the band will perform to over 50,000 fans across Ireland. The definitive final tour will then head across major territories in Asia, Australia, and mainland Europe throughout the autumn. The retrospective live run is scheduled to culminate in December with a completely sold-out UK leg, featuring high-profile final performances at Manchester's Albert Hall and London’s iconic Roundhouse. Pre-orders for the final studio album and remaining global tour tickets are currently available via the band's official website.
