Sony Music has officially released 8-Tracks, a new curated compilation album from rock legends Pink Floyd. The project features eight essential classics spanning the band's most creative and commercially successful era between 1971 and 1979. The album is officially available to the public on vinyl, CD, and across all major digital streaming platforms.
The tracklist features iconic, instantly recognizable anthems including "Money," "Wish You Were Here," "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 2," "Time," and "Comfortably Numb." These staples are paired alongside earlier cuts "One Of These Days" and "Wot’s… Uh The Deal." A major highlight for collectors is the inclusion of the exclusive full version of "Pigs On The Wing," a track previously available only on the rare 1977 Animals 8-track cartridge release. Acclaimed musician and producer Steven Wilson edited the final track sequence, utilizing sound effects sourced directly from the original multitracks to create a continuous, gapless listening experience in classic, immersive Floydian style.
8-Tracks documents Pink Floyd’s dramatic transition into global superstardom throughout the 1970s. The eight-year period celebrated on this release encompasses material from six monumental studio albums: 1971’s Meddle, 1972’s Obscured by Clouds, 1973’s The Dark Side of the Moon, 1975’s Wish You Were Here, 1977’s Animals, and 1979’s The Wall.
