Luton-born singer-songwriter Myles Smith has released his latest single, "Hold Me In The Dark," marking a significant step toward the arrival of his highly anticipated debut album. The track, which premiered as the Hottest Record on BBC Radio 1 with Jack Saunders, serves as the second glimpse into his upcoming record, "My Mess, My Heart, My Life," scheduled for release on June 19.

The new single explores the delicate themes of escapism and the search for stability amidst emotional turmoil. Moving seamlessly from stripped-back verses to a soaring, anthemic chorus, "Hold Me In The Dark" highlights the melodic instincts that have turned Smith into a global phenomenon. Reflecting on the song’s inspiration, Smith shared that the track stems from a place of deep honesty, recalling how he used music as a sanctuary during a childhood marked by frequent moves and domestic chaos. He notes that the song captures the realization that while one cannot always fix every problem, having someone present in the darkness makes the burden bearable.

The debut album itself is the product of intense self-reflection, crafted from years of journals, old therapy notes, and personal experiences. It promises to be Smith's most intimate work, following the massive success of his breakthrough hit "Stargazing," which recently earned a 2026 Ivor Novello nomination.

The timing of the release coincides with a major milestone in Smith’s career. Tomorrow night, he is set to perform "Hold Me In The Dark" and "Stargazing" live on Saturday Night Live UK. This performance serves as a prelude to a massive year on the road, including a sold-out headline show at London’s O2 Arena in November. Beyond his own arena tour across the UK and Europe, Smith is slated to support Ed Sheeran on a North American stadium run. With the full tracklist now revealed—including a collaboration with Niall Horan—Smith is firmly establishing himself as a defining voice in the contemporary music landscape, blending vulnerability with grand musical ambition.
