Cassia has made a highly anticipated return with the announcement of their upcoming studio album, lemon gelato, set for release on August 28. Alongside this news, the band has released the album's title track, which serves as a reflective and summery introduction to their latest creative chapter. The new single combines the band's signature synth-driven sound with introspective lyrics that explore a relationship at a crossroads, balancing nostalgic warmth with emotional uncertainty.

Written in Berlin, the album is described as a melting pot of themes regarding identity and growth. The band explains that the title track, "Lemon Gelato," is about "breaking the loop" and the surreal feeling of someone drifting in and out of one's life. The project came together rapidly following their previous tour, with the band adopting a fresh process that leaned heavily on instinct, intuition, and the sampling of human imperfections to create their most expansive sound to date.

Cassia’s journey has seen them evolve from busking in Cornwall to receiving critical acclaim from major outlets like Rolling Stone UK and BBC Radio 1. Their unique niche blends the indie heritage of Manchester with African musical influences, drawing comparisons to the positivity of Vampire Weekend and the jazz-tinged afrobeats of Fela Kuti. This global sound has already amassed millions of streams on tracks such as "100 Times Over" and "Drifting".

To support the new record, Cassia will embark on a 19-date headline tour across the UK and Europe this November and December, performing to over 15,000 fans. The tour includes significant stops at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town and a homecoming show at Manchester’s O2 Ritz. Before the headline run, the band will also appear at major festivals including Sziget Festival and Neighbourhood Weekender. With this new release, Cassia continues to cement their position as leaders of evocative, feel-good indie music.
