Norwegian-American pop artist Hanna Andréa has released her new music video for single ‘Get Off Your Phone’, via her forthcoming EP ‘Braveheart’, and it might just be the most zeitgeist-capturing pop track of the year so far.

The song is an Americana-tinged anthem that takes direct aim at doom-scrolling culture, driven by a restless muted guitar and a melodic sensibility that draws clearly from the late '90s and early 2000s rock playbook. Think Avril Lavigne's breezy defiance filtered through the emotional frankness of Olivia Rodrigo, with a spoken-word punchline. Co-written alongside Michael Biancaniello, James Conner, Kelsey Gauthier, and Dominique Vellutato, it's the most immediate and radio-ready thing Andréa has put her name to.

The video captures that same energy as the track, playful but pointed, like someone who has tried being patient and has simply decided they're done waiting. Andréa performs with the kind of frustrated charm that anyone who has ever been blanked mid-conversation by someone's Instagram feed will instantly recognise. It's fun, but there's a real feeling underneath it.

For those unfamiliar, Andréa is a Princeton-educated, Muscogee Nation citizen who grew up between the Arctic landscapes of Northern Norway and the American West, a background that informs the layered, cinematic quality her music consistently carries. Since her 2024 debut single 'Starlight', she has been building a following through a body of work approach, with full visual collaborations accompanying her releases. She also co-created Muse! The Shakespeare Mayhem Musical, which premiered at Lincoln Center and is set to run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe from August 7th–31st this year.

With a major Edinburgh run ahead and a growing catalogue that is starting to generate serious attention, Andréa looks like an artist hitting her stride at exactly the right moment. ‘Get Off Your Phone’ is out now.
