GRAMMY® and Emmy Award-winning superstar Lizzo has officially announced the upcoming release of her third studio album, titled Bitch. Set to drop on June 5, 2026, the project marks a bold new era for the singer, songwriter, and flautist. The album’s title track, which interpolates Meredith Brooks’ 1997 smash hit, is scheduled for release this Friday, May 1, alongside a highly anticipated music video.
The choice of title serves as a direct callback to Lizzo’s Diamond-certified anthem "Truth Hurts," which famously coined the phrase, "I’m 100% that bitch." For Lizzo, the naming of the record is an act of reclamation. "It’s taking a label once used to diminish women and turning it into a declaration of confidence and unapologetic self-love," she shared. "It was only fitting because it has become my favorite word when using it on my own terms."
The announcement follows the success of her recent single, "Don’t Make Me Love U," a track that earned critical acclaim for its vulnerable exploration of growth and self-reflection. Lizzo recently reminded audiences of her technical prowess during a prestigious 12-night residency at the Blue Note Jazz Club in both New York and Los Angeles. These intimate shows highlighted her status as a "trained, serious musician," a sentiment echoed earlier this month when she performed for over 70,000 fans at a sold-out Houston Rodeo.
Beyond the recording studio, 2026 is shaping up to be a landmark year for the multi-hyphenate star. Lizzo is set to make her mark on the literary world with her first children’s book, Lil Lizzo Meets Sasha B. Flootin’, arriving in September. Additionally, she will portray rock 'n' roll pioneer Sister Rosetta Tharpe in the upcoming Amazon MGM Studios biopic, Rosetta.
With Bitch, Lizzo continues to cement her place as a transformative figure in pop culture, blending her signature humor and instrumental skill with a message of empowerment that resonates globally.
Bitch arrives June 5 and is available for pre-order now.
