Global pop icons Duran Duran have made a triumphant return to the airwaves with their first new music of 2026, the high-octane single “Free To Love.” The track sees the band reuniting with their legendary longtime collaborator Nile Rodgers, delivering what frontman Simon Le Bon describes as "disco for the 2020s."

The single arrived this morning via a premiere on the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show, accompanied by a vibrant music video directed by the visionary Jonas Åkerlund. The film stars broadcaster Clara Amfo and features a spectacular, technicolor performance aesthetic inspired by Top of the Pops.

“Free To Love” is an explosive slice of cyber-funk designed to combat a divided world with a message of openness. Nick Rhodes describes the track as an "anthem for freedom," noting that the creative electricity generated whenever the band plugs in with Rodgers could "light up a whole city." Rodgers, whose partnership with the group dates back to his iconic 1984 remix of "The Reflex," echoed the sentiment, stating that despite global chaos, the studio remains a space for peace and creative liberty.

The project also continues a unique multi-sensory partnership with Italian luxury perfumer Xerjoff. The music video’s visual language is a direct extension of the band's co-created fragrance, NeoRio, with the scent’s luminous energy serving as a blueprint for the video's warmth and atmosphere.

The release serves as a high-energy prelude to a major summer milestone. Duran Duran are set to headline London’s BST Hyde Park for the second time on July 5, 2026. They will be joined by special guests Scissor Sisters for what promises to be one of the year’s most significant live events.

With over 100 million records sold and a legacy cemented by their induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Duran Duran remain a vital force in pop. Following a successful run with their 2023 album Danse Macabre, the band is currently preparing for a prestigious Las Vegas residency and a sprawling European tour before their highly anticipated UK homecoming.

“Free To Love” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
