The voice that captivated a billion listeners is entering a defiant new era. Freya Ridings has released her latest single, “Dancing In The Kitchen,” a bewitching preview of her highly anticipated third studio album, Mother Of Pearl, arriving May 29th via BMG. Alongside the release, the singer-songwriter has announced an extensive 2026 UK and EU headline tour, featuring a career-defining night at London’s Royal Albert Hall on October 5th.
“Dancing In The Kitchen” arrives as an anthem of raw vulnerability. Stripped back to a ukulele and Ridings’ unmistakable, stirring vocals, the track captures the "secret life" shared behind closed doors. Originally teased as a demo online, the song quickly became a fan favorite and a staple of her recent Australian tour with OneRepublic.
“It’s my rawest, most honest song to date,” Ridings shares. “I’m thrilled that my fans resonated with the secret life I think we all share behind closed doors and eyes. I truly can’t wait for this song to finally be out in the world.”
The track is accompanied by a haunting one-take music video directed by Nic Minns (Lewis Capaldi, Ed Sheeran), filmed in the atmospheric Asylum Chapel.
The new album, Mother Of Pearl, represents a reinvention for the BRIT-nominated artist. While maintaining the power that made “Lost Without You” a multi-platinum success, the 11-track project showcases a new defiance. Having navigated a patriarchal industry that often tried to mold her, Ridings has tapped into a rich seam of wisdom and womanhood. The album is a testament to her journey, opening with the assured, high-energy track “Euphoria.”
2026 Tour Dates
Fresh from international stages, Ridings’ 27-date headline tour kicks off on September 6th at Belfast’s Ulster Hall. The run will span major venues across the UK and Ireland—including Dublin, Glasgow, and Manchester—before heading to European cities such as Berlin, Paris, and Zurich.
