In a move typically reserved for the upper echelon of pop royalty, St Albans’ own Enter Shikari have stunned the music world by surprise-releasing their brand-new album, "Lose Your Self".
As of midnight on Friday, 10th April 2026, the 12-track record is available worldwide. While heavy hitters like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift have mastered the digital surprise drop, Shikari have gone a step further, making the album immediately available in physical CD and vinyl formats alongside streaming services.
Music Without the "Spoon-Feeding"
Frontman Rou Reynolds explained that the decision to skip the traditional "drip-fed" marketing cycle was intentional. "We want people to go on a proper journey with this album," Reynolds stated. "No lead-up, no singles, and no explanation. This is simply about the music being presented in a natural way."
The album explores heavy themes of global desolation and despair, yet Reynolds insists that optimism remains the band's core. "Shikari will always offer hope, because without hope there is no action," he noted, describing the record as one of their "heaviest and darkest" to date.
Intimate Shows and Arena Ambitions
To celebrate the release, the band has announced a run of "tiny" album release shows later this month:
23rd April: The Cavern, Liverpool
24th April: The Fighting Cocks, Kingston
25th April: Signature Brew, London
Tickets for these intimate performances go on sale 15th April. These shows serve as a stark contrast to the massive headline arena tour scheduled for November 2026, which includes two nights at London’s Alexandra Palace. Notably, every ticket sold for the UK arena dates includes a £1 donation to the Music Venue Trust, continuing the band's pioneering work in supporting grassroots venues.
Following their first-ever UK No.1 album in 2024, Lose Your Self marks a bold new chapter for a band that has played over 3,000 shows and remains one of the most innovative forces in alternative rock.
