The legendary Van Morrison is set to be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Jazz FM Awards 2026. Presented in association with PPL and PRS for Music, the accolade recognizes Morrison’s extraordinary six-decade career and his indelible impact on the global musical landscape.

The ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the iconic London venue KOKO. Returning to host the evening is the versatile broadcaster, comedian, and actor Ben Bailey Smith (also known as Doc Brown). The event promises to be a vibrant intersection of jazz, soul, and blues, celebrating both the heritage and the future of these genres.

Van Morrison joins an elite group of previous recipients, including Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock, and Tony Bennett. Reflecting on the honor, Morrison stated:

"Jazz and blues have always been at the heart of the music I love and the music I make... it’s an honor to receive this recognition from Jazz FM."

With a catalog of over 40 studio albums, Morrison has masterfully fused jazz, soul, and Celtic folk into a singular sound. From the improvisational depth of Astral Weeks to the spiritual soundscapes of Common One, his work has influenced generations of songwriters. His career honors include multiple Grammy Awards, a knighthood, and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
