Bristol’s premiere punk rock ‘n’ rollers, Split Dogs, have officially snapped back with their high-voltage new single, “Rock ‘N’ Roll Business.” Released via Venn Records, the track serves as the first blistering taste of their sophomore album, Nice ‘N’ Rough, which is slated for a September 25, 2026, release.
The single is a no-nonsense, two-minute-forty-second strut that takes a satirical swipe at the music business. “Rock ‘N’ Roll Business imagines the industry as a classic British gangster film,” explains lead singer Harry Martinez. “Dirty deeds, big egos, and people you wouldn’t trust with your last ciggie. It’s our big middle finger to the whole thing.” The accompanying music video leans heavily into this aesthetic, featuring a classic black Chevrolet Chevelle and a gritty garage backdrop secured through the band’s DIY network.
Recorded at The Station House in Leeds—a studio housed in a repurposed Victorian police station—the upcoming album was produced by Jonah Falco. The resulting thirteen tracks are fueled by lightning-fast guitar licks and cues from icons like The Stooges and Motörhead. While the energy is playful, the record dives into significant themes: "Speed Demon" addresses mental health, while the Danzig-esque "Suffer" tackles the shadow of parental abuse.
The band’s relentless work ethic has already earned them high-profile fans. Iggy Pop recently described them on BBC 6Music as “the sound of trouble,” while Kerrang! hailed their music as an “essential manual for street-level rock thrills.”
Split Dogs are currently on a headline UK tour, with stops in Glasgow, Leeds, and London this month. Their 2026 calendar is packed with festival appearances—including 2000 Trees and Bearded Theory—before they head to Europe this October to support Canadian rockers Danko Jones.
