The wait is nearly over for the global "Killer Krew." Iron Maiden has officially released the first trailer for their highly anticipated cinematic retrospective, Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition. Set to storm UK cinemas starting 7 May 2026, the film offers a definitive look at five decades of heavy metal mastery. Tickets are available for purchase effective immediately.

Five Decades of Uncompromising Vision

Directed by Malcolm Venville, Burning Ambition is far more than a standard music documentary. Granted unprecedented access to the band’s private archives, the film charts a journey that began in 1975 in the East End of London and evolved into a global phenomenon.

The documentary features intimate interviews with the core lineup—Steve Harris, Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, Bruce Dickinson, Nicko McBrain, and Janick Gers—alongside longtime manager Rod Smallwood. Adding a unique perspective to the band's cultural weight are contributions from high-profile fans and peers, including Oscar winner Javier Bardem, Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, and Public Enemy’s Chuck D.

A Legacy Beyond the Stage

The film arrives as the band continues to celebrate its landmark 50th anniversary. Since their 1980 debut, Iron Maiden has:

Released 17 studio albums and sold over 100 million copies worldwide.

Performed nearly 2,500 live shows across 64 countries.

Revolutionized touring with Ed Force One, their custom Boeing 747 piloted by frontman Bruce Dickinson.

Expanded their brand into the award-winning Trooper Beer, now in its twelfth year of production.

Celebrating 50 Years of Metal

The theatrical release coincides with the band's massive two-year "Run For Your Lives" world tour and the publication of their first official hardcover visual history, Infinite Dreams. Burning Ambition serves as the centerpiece of these celebrations, capturing the unwavering connection between the band and their "army" of fans.
