The wait for the heaviest resurrection of 2026 is over. Richmond, Virginia’s premier sonic architects, Lamb of God, have officially unleashed their tenth studio masterpiece, Into Oblivion (Epic Records). True to form, the album is a relentless masterclass in groove-laden aggression, with Vice succinctly branding the release "a f**kin scorcher."
Produced and mixed by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur, the recording process for Into Oblivion was a geographical journey through the band’s identity. While the foundation was laid in Richmond, Randy Blythe tracked his vocals at the legendary Total Access studio in Redondo Beach, CA—the hallowed ground where punk icons like Black Flag and the Descendents once carved their legacies.
This punk-infused grit is palpable across the tracklist. From the "bruising" riffs of the lead single "Sepsis" to the "anti-tech thrasher" energy of "Parasocial Christ," the album balances the band’s influential past with a modern, punishing evolution. Critics have already noted Blythe’s vocal performance as particularly striking, with Consequence comparing his bellows to a "heavy metal Nick Cave."
The release weekend has transformed into a coast-to-coast celebration. SiriusXM’s Liquid Metal is currently hosting a week-long takeover featuring curated playlists and interviews with Blythe. Simultaneously, over 140 independent record stores are hosting listening parties through Sunday, offering fans the chance to snag the limited-edition "Poltergeist" vinyl variant.
The momentum culminates tonight with a sold-out, surprise pop-up performance at Philadelphia’s TLA. This intimate chaos serves as the final fuse-lighting before the official North American Into Oblivion Tour kicks off this Tuesday, March 17.
Joining Lamb of God for what is being billed as the heaviest trek of the year are Kublai Khan TX, Fit For An Autopsy, and Sanguisugabogg. Fans can find tickets below now.
