Kwun returns with a striking departure from the soul-inflected, singer-songwriter and funk-leaning textures of his recent work, unveiling a heavy rock track driven by instinct, physicality, and emotional force.

Drawing inspiration from the raw electricity of Iggy & The Stooges, art-rock experimentation of The Velvet Underground, and the sharp-edged momentum of Talking Heads, the song pushes Kwun into far more primal territory, visceral and unapologetically direct.

As with all of Kwun’s releases, the track is recorded and tuned to 432 Hz, a frequency often associated with resonance in the natural world and the human body. Even within its heavy rock framework, this tuning subtly underpins the music with a sense of grounding and physical coherence.

At its core, the song explores the healing of ancestral trauma within family systems. Beneath the urgency of the performance lies a deeper emotional narrative that reveals itself gradually, rewarding repeated listens. What initially presents as raw power unfolds into something more reflective and expansive.

That sense of expansion comes fully into focus in the track’s unexpected orchestral finale. Emerging from the intensity of the rock arrangement, the closing section opens into a broader cinematic space, offering resolution and release without softening the song’s emotional weight.

In a bold visual departure, the accompanying music video, filmed around the La Veleta district of Tulum, Mexico, sees Kwun largely absent from the frame, appearing only in brief cameo moments. Instead, the video centres on three women whose presence shapes the emotional atmosphere of the piece, allowing gesture, energy, and environment to speak where narrative is deliberately left open.

This release marks a distinct chapter in Kwun’s evolving catalogue: a heavy rock song that prioritises instinct over polish, depth over surface, and emotional truth over genre expectation.
