30 years after Alex Party’s “Don’t Give Me Your Life” reached Number 1 on the UK Club Charts, it is back at Number 1. Thanks to a 30th Anniversary re-release by Charlie Big, Shanie & Luv Foundation (UK) reaching the top spot this week.

Original singer Shanie Campbell re-released “Don’t Give Me Your Life” last September, to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of her dance classic. The re-work with Charlie Big and Luv Foundation (UK), released by label So, Let's Talk, quickly went viral garnering over 3 million views on TikTok, while racking up over 1500 registered radio spins. The new version hit Number 1 on the Music Week Upfront Club Chart on Friday, ahead of competition from Joe Stone and Chicane. It reached Number 2 on the Music Week Commercial Pop Chart as well, in the same week. Last October, it also flew straight to Number 1 on the Commercial Cuts Chart, serviced by CD Pool.

Eurodance song "Don't Give Me Your Life" became a huge hit in 1995 for Italian group Alex Party. Its distinctive vocals were performed by Shanie Campbell, who also wrote the lyrics, and was produced by Paolo and Gianni Visnadi. The single peaked at Number 2 in the UK Singles Chart, Number 2 in Ireland, and Number 1 in the Music Week Club Chart. It was named the ‘Club Record of the Year’ in the 1995 Music Week Awards, becoming a staple of 90s dance music.
