Visionary producer Danny L Harle has released his latest single, "Raft In The Sea," featuring the raw, melancholic vocals of acclaimed singer-songwriter Julia Michaels. The track serves as a haunting centerpiece for Harle’s highly anticipated debut album, Cerulean, arriving February 13, 2026, via XL Recordings.
A Departure into Emotional Stillness
Known for his high-energy, maximalist "Harlecore" sound, Harle shifts gears on "Raft In The Sea," stripping back the production to reveal a landscape of swelling synths and slow-burning harmonies. The track focuses on a vulnerable performance from Michaels, whom Harle encouraged to embrace a "quiet devastation" rarely heard in her mainstream pop work.
"I initially met her during a Dua Lipa session, and my jaw dropped when I heard her sing," Harle recalls. "I wanted to bring out the rawness and melancholy of her voice. I asked her, ‘Can you just be sad?’ and she said, ‘For you Danny, I will.’"
The "Definitive" Debut
While Harle has been a pillar of the pop and electronic scene for over a decade—co-producing for the likes of Charli XCX, Dua Lipa, and Caroline Polachek—he considers Cerulean his true artistic debut. The 13-track album is a massive sonic voyage inspired by sources as varied as the film Stalker, the Dark Souls video game series, and Elizabethan composers like William Byrd.
The album features a powerhouse roster of collaborators, including Clairo, PinkPantheress, and Oklou. Each track aims to find "unfamiliar colors" in these well-known voices, set against a backdrop of euphoric trance synths and speaker-blowing bass.

"Raft In The Sea" follows a string of successful singles, including "Starlight" and "Azimuth." Together, they paint a picture of an album that exists on the threshold between dreams and reality—a record Harle describes as "megalophobic in scale yet deeply human at its core."
