Capital, the UK’s leading hit music station, has officially launched its Capital Buzz Artist of the Month program. This new initiative, run in partnership with its Gen-Z pop-culture brand Capital Buzz, is designed to spotlight and accelerate the careers of the most exciting breakthrough artists in the industry.
The program follows a successful pilot at Capital’s Jingle Bell Ball with Barclaycard 2025, where rising stars Alessi Rose and Rose Gray performed to a sold-out crowd of 20,000 at London’s O2 Arena. Building on that momentum, Capital will now select one artist each month to receive the "full force" of Global’s media ecosystem, including extensive on-air support, digital coverage, and outdoor advertising across the UK.
Audrey Hobert Named January’s "One to Watch"
Marking the official launch of the initiative, American singer-songwriter Audrey Hobert has been named the first Capital Buzz Artist for January 2026. Hobert became a viral sensation following the release of her debut single, “Sue Me,” and further cemented her status with her debut album, Who's the Clown?, released late last year.
With an upcoming tour scheduled across the UK, Australia, and New Zealand, Hobert is positioned as a primary figure in the new wave of pop talent. "Audrey perfectly embodies the new wave of talent we want to champion," said Jack Morlen, Director of Artist & Entertainment Relations at Global. "Supporting up-and-coming talent has always been a huge passion... this allows us to support emerging artists in a way only we can."
Unparalleled Reach for New Artists
By integrating the Capital Buzz brand with Global’s massive broadcasting reach, the program offers artists a rare platform to transition from viral internet success to mainstream radio airplay. Each monthly artist will benefit from curated content across social platforms and dedicated airtime on the UK’s number one hit music station.
