Mumford & Sons are continuing their prolific period of songwriting with the announcement of their sixth studio album, Prizefighter, set for release on February 13, 2026, via Island Records. To mark the announcement, the band has shared the album’s title track, “Prizefighter,” a compelling new song co-written with collaborators Justin Vernon and Aaron Dessner.
This quick follow-up to their March 2025 No. 1 album, RUSHMERE, captures the band at their most open and instinctive. The sessions, which included co-production and co-writing by The National’s Aaron Dessner, were reportedly transformative. In just ten days, the band wrote over an album's worth of material, embracing first takes and the collective joy of making music together. The resulting 14-song collection reflects this full-strength energy, with Marcus Mumford’s lyrics grappling with urgency and resilience. The openness extended to the studio, where the band welcomed guests like Hozier, Gracie Abrams, Chris Stapleton, and Gigi Perez.
The announcement comes as the band wraps up their extensive US, Europe, and UK arena tours, concluding with a second night at London’s O2 Arena. Fans now have even more to look forward to on the live front: Mumford & Sons will headline BST Hyde Park in London next July, their first return to the iconic venue in a decade, with support from The War On Drugs. Huge outdoor shows in Groningen, Rome, and Berlin are also on sale now.
In a continued commitment to philanthropy, Mumford & Sons have partnered with PLUS1 to support War Child for their European dates. €1 from every ticket sold in the Netherlands, Italy, and Germany will go towards helping children affected by war.
Prizefighter promises to showcase a re-energized and rejuvenated Mumford & Sons, cementing their status as one of rock's most enduring and evolving acts.
