Emerging as one of the most exciting new voices in the UK music landscape, Perspective – featuring KG (Lead Vocals), Liam (Bass), Ezra (Drums), and Riccardo (Guitar) – proudly announce the upcoming release of their self-written and self-produced 11-track debut album, a project two-and-a-half years in the making.
Blending the irresistible grooves of funk, the uplifting sparkle of disco, the celerity of pop, and a distinctive alternative energy, Perspective deliver a sound that feels both nostalgically familiar and entirely their own. What began as an idea to fuse the classic 70s funk and disco era with modern pop production and experimental textures evolved into something refreshingly unique. The result: a modern wave of funk-pop anthems crafted entirely from the band’s own vision and creativity.
The album traces a decade of personal experiences, written largely by KG and presented almost like chapters in a book. From love, trauma, hope, identity, and personal growth, the record takes listeners deep into real stories.
“The songs were all written and finalised from a present perspective – looking back at moments in time and understanding them through where I am now. It’s about taking some of life’s biggest challenges and recognising the growth that has come from them.”
“Take Them All Down” – Already the band’s most successful single to date, this guitar-powered drunken love song was written a year into a relationship and captures that euphoric “us against the world” romantic high.
“Scream Therapy” – A track created in frustration, reflecting the world’s modern tension – a punchy, instrumental-driven call for emotional release in a time when we all feel like screaming.
“Hurt You Anymore” – A floor-filling dance track born out of betrayal and emotional gaslighting, turning heartbreak into empowerment and a triumphant “moving on” anthem.
“Watching Sunsets” – Written as an uplifting tribute to those closest to the band with an emotional twist: sometimes those who love us most see we deserve better long before we do.
“Dirty Game” – A disco-charged account of KG’s first relationship, which took a shocking turn when he discovered the partner was engaged with children – a story told through rhythmic glitter and unapologetic honesty.
“It Can Be” – This track will bring back nostalgia to a time of music gone by. It’s the only lyrics not written by KG, penned by guitarist Riccardo.
“Late To The Party” – A Daft Punk-influenced, edgy, metallic-tinged track about KG coming out later in life and finally stepping into his own truth told through an experimental music journey.
“Stay Tonight” – Funky, playful and feel-good, capturing the excitement of new romantic chemistry without expectations.
“Love Is A Fool” – A light-hearted parody love song written with tongue firmly in cheek.
“Power” – One of KG’s most personal songs, written in the aftermath of trauma and about reclaiming identity and strength in the face of someone trying to take it away. It ends on a defiant and triumphant final line: “I’ve got the power in me.”
“Skeletons” – The emotional album closer, written by KG six years before the band was even formed, reflecting a dark chapter and a moment where he nearly took his own life. This slow, powerful ballad, featuring a guitar solo framing the lyrics, stands as a poignant and vulnerable finale that speaks straight to the heart.
“We chose this selection of tracks from everything we wrote to tell a story. We wanted the album sequenced in a way that could be listened to from beginning to end with no skipping. It’s an album that works in many different scenarios – whether you’re partying or just having a chilled night in.”
