Folk-punk legends Skinny Lister are gearing up to close out 2025 with a bang, releasing a brand new video for the track "Tumbling Into Something" ahead of a nine-date UK tour this December.
The track is taken from their invigorating 2025 release, Songs From The Yonder, and offers a moment of reflective calm amidst the album's typically up-tempo madness. Singer Dan Heptinstall described the song as an optimistic take on life's uncertainties: "It’s about surrendering to the uncertainties of life, and embracing the excitement of the ride. It’s also about new beginnings and second chances.”
The song allows vocalist Lorna Heptinstall's voice to shine on the ballad-style track, showcasing a more ambient and atmospheric arrangement than fans might typically expect. Dan noted that the band achieved this mood by playing the drums with bare hands and utilizing the accordion "more to add mood than melody, played almost like a synth pad – it leans towards something that sounds a little more ‘Vangelis’ than traditional folk."
Songs From The Yonder, released via Xtra Mile Recordings, is a riotous mix of shanty sing-a-longs and folk-punk classics infused with themes of seafaring and travelling. The core tracks were recorded live and left unedited to capture the band's ferocious live energy, for which they are renowned.
Skinny Lister is now ready to bring the new material to the stage, kicking off their UK Winter Tour on December 3rd at Southampton’s 1865. The tour concludes with their annual festive bash at London’s Scala on December 12th.
Dan promised fans: "Expect a smattering of tracks from our latest album – as well as a whole bunch of live favourites... Christmas officially begins at what’s now become our legendary annual London Christmas bash."
Support for all dates will come from special guests Vandoliers and Claudia Kate. Remaining tickets are available now.
