War Child UK proudly announced that its annual Day of the Girl concert series successfully raised over £40,000 this year, providing crucial funds to support girls and women living in conflict zones globally. The intimate series, held across London and Liverpool in October, featured celebrated headline performances and a strong line-up of emerging talent.

The concerts were pivotal fundraisers for War Child's mission to protect, educate, and empower those affected by war. Headlining the 2025 series were alt-pop artist girli, last year's Mercury Prize winners English Teacher, and folk-pop singer Katy J Pearson.

girli kicked off the series on October 9th at London’s Oslo, captivating audiences with their bold, socially conscious pop.

English Teacher brought their intelligent, genre-bending indie sound to Liverpool’s Hangar 34 on October 10th.

Katy J Pearson closed the series on October 12th at the iconic 100 Club in London, showcasing her unique folk and country influences.

The headliners were powerfully supported by emerging acts including Dirt Flirt, Neve Cariad, Sarah Meth, and Jimmy Means Smut.

The need for this support is urgent: currently, 612 million girls and women worldwide live in conflict zones, a staggering 50% increase over the last decade. In these crises, gender inequality and violence dramatically escalate, with those assigned female at birth suffering 95% of all sexual violence and facing significant barriers to education and healthcare. The funds raised will directly support War Child’s work, which includes providing specialist mental health support, safe learning spaces, healthcare access, and economic opportunities.

Since its inception in 2021, the Day of the Girl concert series has now raised an impressive £290,000. The campaign continues to draw support from some of the UK’s most exciting artists, proving, as War Child UK’s Head of Live Music Clare Sanders-Wright stated, "music has the power to create change."
