The reunion of Haircut One Hundred has officially blossomed into a full-scale comeback. The iconic 80s band has announced their new album, Boxing The Compass, set for release on March 20th, 2026. This marks the first album from the classic lineup featuring vocalist Nick Heyward in 44 years, following their 1982 Platinum-certified debut, Pelican West.
The momentum began last year with the single ‘The Unloving Plum,’ which became a hit, reminding fans of the magic that powered classics like ‘Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl)’ and ‘Fantastic Day.’ Now, the band steps up its return with the new single ‘Dynamite,’ which premiered this morning on Radio 2.
The reunion, initially intended as a business meeting between Heyward, Graham Jones (guitar), and Les Nemes (bass), quickly reignited their friendship and creative spark. Following an unforgettable comeback show and a UK tour, drummer Blair Cunningham rejoined, completing the classic quartet.
The new music, recorded with Sean Read, showcases their inherent flair for classic, melody-rich pop, now infused with disco guitar hooks, rousing brass, and jazzy flourishes. Heyward describes the album as a guide: “‘Boxing the Compass’ is the traditional way of finding out where you are on land or sea... We’re arriving back at the port we left 43 years ago with a log of songs from our personal travels.”
The infectious new single, ‘Dynamite,’ is a clear signal that the band is relishing their second chapter. Heyward notes the song is about "communication and how explosive it can be," delivering pure, unadulterated feel-good fervour.
To celebrate the release, Haircut One Hundred has confirmed a UK headline tour for May 2026, including a major show at the London Palladium on May 1st. Fans can pre-order Boxing The Compass now for early access to concert tickets.
