Ramsgate-based songwriter Antony Hurley is back with his second album, Howl For More. Listen here.
Written across a year of travel between southern Italy, Mexico and eventually the Kent coast, the album’s core reflects the fragmentary nature of travel. Howl For More builds on the introspective folk of his debut Quiet Rooms, eventually expanding into a broader and more ambitious sound with string arrangements, synth and layered vocals.
Rooted in the traditions of English folk, Americana, and Old Time music, Hurley’s songwriting is shaped by his background as a bookseller and a deep connection to literature. Released on his independent label Lanterne Records, Howl For More reflects the imprint’s unique position at the intersection of music and writing. Previous Lanterne collaborations include work with CAConrad, David Mitchell, Jacken Elswyth, and Sam Amidon — a community of artists exploring song and storytelling across disciplines. In May 2025 Hurley supported Sam Amidon on his UK tour and in September opened for S Carey (Bon Iver) in London and Glasgow.
