Chart-topping British singer-songwriter Maisie Peters has officially returned with her first new music in two years, dropping two brand new singles: "You You You" and "Audrey Hepburn." Released via Gingerbread Man Records/Atlantic Records, the tracks signal the beginning of the campaign for her highly anticipated, yet-to-be-announced third studio album.
This musical comeback follows a monumental 2023 for Peters, which saw her headline Wembley Arena, open The Eras Tour, and become the youngest solo British female artist in nearly a decade to score a debut UK No.1 album with The Good Witch.
The two new singles offer fans contrasting emotional landscapes. "Audrey Hepburn," which Peters calls the defining song of this new album era, explores how new love brought her "inner peace, calm, strength, and confidence" amid the "mania" of her life. Conversely, "You You You" delves into the lingering sadness of her last heartbreak, a song she wrote in retrospect about feeling consumed by that previous sorrow.
Maisie explained that despite their different tones, the songs are deeply connected: "Neither could have existed without the other, so I’m so glad everyone is getting to experience them at the same time."
The tracks feature a collaborative production team, including Ian Fitchuk and co-production by Peters herself alongside Alysa Vanderheym on "You You You" and Joe Rubel on "Audrey Hepburn."
To celebrate the launch, Peters is playing two intimate comeback shows at EartH Hackney this week. Both performances were announced just last week and sold out immediately, proving the intense anticipation for her next chapter. Fans are advised to stay tuned for further news on her third album in the coming weeks.
