World-renowned classical superstar André Rieu is celebrating a momentous anniversary in 2025: the 200th birthday of Johann Strauss II. To honour this landmark occasion, Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra are set to release the brand-new album, Thank You, Johann Strauss, on November 7, 2025.
This special 3-CD and 1-DVD collection serves as a heartfelt tribute to the "Waltz King," featuring Strauss’s most beloved masterpieces. The album includes iconic works such as Rosen aus dem Süden, The Blue Danube, Kaiserwalzer, Wiener Blut, and the jubilant Radetzky March by Johann Strauss I.
Rieu, whose orchestra is named after the composer, spoke passionately about the influence of Strauss: "There is a reason I named my orchestra after him, and that’s because I can’t think of any other composer who has brought so much joy to the world with his music." He noted the enduring magic of the music at his concerts: "Every evening at every concert all over the world we play his most famous waltz, ‘An der schönen blauen Donau,’ and every evening people jump up as soon as they hear the first bars... When I see these couples hold each other close and dance the night away, it fills my heart with happiness.”
As a global phenomenon with over 40 million records sold and audiences of over 700,000 concertgoers annually, Rieu’s unique showmanship blends classical music with pure joy.
Fans can experience this unique atmosphere live when André Rieu returns to the UK and Ireland in 2026. The tour, which kicks off in April and continues in September, includes major arena dates in Belfast, Dublin, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, London, and Birmingham. The concerts are celebrated for their joyful spirit, dazzling production, and irresistible blend of classical hits, film scores, and, naturally, Rieu’s signature waltzes.
