Metal legends MEGADETH officially entered their final chapter today, unveiling "Tipping Point" as the explosive first single and video from their forthcoming self-titled and final studio album. The album is slated for release in 2026 via frontman Dave Mustaine’s Tradecraft imprint, in partnership with Frontiers Label Group’s new BLKIIBLK label.

"Tipping Point" sets a thunderous tone for the band’s farewell record. The sonically intense track immediately kicks off with a blistering guitar solo before Mustaine’s signature, haunting vocals take over.

Speaking on the meaning behind the song, Mustaine commented, “We all have different ‘tipping points’ and they may vary from day to day... I think we’re all being pushed to the edge right now, and it’s easy to lean into that feeling. But it’s important not to let things get you down.”

The accompanying music video, directed by Leonardo Liberti, is a gritty, visually compelling piece. It features Mustaine locked in a prison, enduring extreme forms of torture while the band—comprising Mustaine, Teemu Mäntysaari (Guitars), James LoMenzo (Bass), and Dirk Verbeuren (Drums)—performs fiercely within the same lock-up. In a defiant ending, Mustaine "perseveres evil and walks away into a new day," providing a fitting visual metaphor for the band’s enduring spirit.

Earlier this year, Mustaine had shared the news directly with his worldwide fanbase that this self-titled project would mark the final studio album from the thrash metal icons, who have sold over 50 million records and earned a GRAMMY® Award.

The forthcoming self-titled album is available for pre-order now, with more details to follow in the coming weeks. Fans can also look forward to an initial run of farewell tour dates being announced later this year, giving the Cyber Army a chance to salute the iconic band on the road.
