Today, Supergrass celebrates the 20th anniversary of their acclaimed fifth studio album, ‘Road to Rouen,’ with an expansive reissue, out now via BMG. Originally released in 2005, the album marked a pivotal, introspective shift for the band and remains one of their most critically successful works, peaking at #9 on the UK Top 10 chart.

To commemorate the milestone, this anniversary edition has been fully remastered and features a wealth of previously unheard material. Headlining the extra content is the previously unreleased studio track, ‘Don’t Leave Me Alone.’ The track is now available to stream alongside the full reissue.

Adding another layer of interest for fans, the band has released a new visualiser for their unique, stripped-back cover of The Doors’ classic, “Hyacinth House (Débranché).” This unplugged rendition is among the numerous unheard live recordings and "Débranché" (unplugged) versions that fill the bonus disc of the new collection.

Bassist Mick Quinn shared his enthusiasm for the album, calling it “My favourite Supergrass record (but then officially they're all my favourites), I really love this one. The extra live stuff is further proof, even on our serious ‘mature’ 5th album, we couldn't resist having some fun with it.”

Road to Rouen was a stylistic departure for Supergrass, trading their signature upbeat sound for a more reflective, mellow direction, characterised by longer, orchestral arrangements. The album was praised by critics, receiving glowing 4 and 5-star reviews and featuring singles like ‘Low C,’ ‘Fin,’ and the fan favourite, ‘St. Petersburg.’

The reissue is available digitally, as a Gatefold 2LP Petrol and Forest Green vinyl, and as a 2CD digisleeve. Both physical formats include a commemorative booklet featuring liner notes written by Mark Radcliffe. For fans looking to see the influential 90s band live, Supergrass is currently set to tour South and North America throughout August and September 2025.
