Cameron Richardson will make his debut solo television performance on 30th November on Sunday Morning Live on BBC 1.

Cameron has an incredible and unique life in music. He is a Cambridge and Juilliard educated singer and pianist with impeccable credentials in the classical world and has appeared on numerous award-winning recordings. He is also a globally leading vocal coach, and from his Lincolnshire base runs a voice coaching company - The Vocal Coaches - with tutors and clients based all around the world, including artists in numerous Broadway and West End productions. He is also Head of the recently established Musical Theatre programme at Trinity College, Cambridge, where he is helping a new generation of talent to develop.

He is now launching himself as a singer in his own right with The Other Side Of Blue - a sophisticated pop track full of feeling and emotion.

Cameron says: "On its first level, the song is really about long-distance relationships, and the feeling that the world can actually feel very small when you have someone looking out for you and thinking about you, wherever they are, even the other side of the ocean (the blue). On a second level, I kept the idea of the “blue” quite abstract because I also felt strongly that the song should talk about how I feel about people who are no longer with us, yet still look over us. The blue can even represent struggle, and the hope that something better lies beyond, and the singer will be waiting there for them. Whatever the blue is in someone’s life, it’s surmountable.

“I’ve performed an awful lot as a classical pianist and singer over the years, and I've loved it, but what I enjoy about now being able to step out of that world is having greater autonomy,” he says. "I've loved creating my own material and being involved in shaping the fabric of the material. "

Reaction to the new songs has been incredibly positive ( "These are exquisitely detailed pop songs that rise at once towards the intimate and the anthemic.”- Nick Duerden), while it seems fitting that someone who works with great singers all around the world now has the opportunity to showcase his own stunning voice.
