Essex band, Mad Morning crash into the scene with a debut single that feels anything but tentative and hits like a sledgehammer. ‘Painkiller’ is a fierce and fiery introduction, the trio wasting no time in showing the power behind their rebrand.

Released via Saviour Music, ‘Painkiller’ is a relentless surge of alternative rock, driven by a commanding vocal presence, raw fast guitars, and thundering percussion. With razor-sharp riffs and a soaring guitar solo, Mad Morning have announced themselves with a blend of hard rock muscle and post-grunge grit that feels urgent, confident, and tailor-made for bigger stages. For a first release, it’s a remarkably polished statement, suggesting a band that already knows exactly who they are. ‘Painkiller’ barrels forward with unrelenting energy, but crucially, it never sacrifices melody.

At the centre is frontman Rob Jarvis, a familiar name to many thanks to his time with Mercury Sons and Great Man Theory. Here, though, he sounds reinvigorated, his vocals riding the crest of powerhouse drumming and slicing guitars that recall the intensity of early Foo Fighters.

Mad Morning are clearly not testing the waters here; they’re leaping in headfirst, armed with a sound that’s both nostalgic and refreshingly their own. With their debut album slated for 2026, this is an explosive taste of what’s to come.
