To celebrate the 50th anniversary of their seminal 1975 album, A Night At The Opera, and the iconic single “Bohemian Rhapsody,” legendary rock band Queen is releasing a series of opulent vinyl reissues. The releases honor the record that catapulted the band to global superstardom, solidifying their status as one of Britain’s most visionary musical acts.

Originally released in November 1975, A Night At The Opera was Queen’s grandest artistic statement, reaching Number 1 in five countries, including the UK. Guitarist Sir Brian May reflected on the album’s importance, stating, “It opened up the world for us.” Drummer Roger Taylor added, “We were at the peak of our confidence... it felt like there wasn’t anything we couldn’t do, and it shows on that album.”

The album will be reissued on October 18 on lavish crystal-clear vinyl with gold labels. The timeless single “Bohemian Rhapsody,” which famously spent a record-breaking nine weeks at the top of the UK singles chart, will also receive a special reissue on October 31. It will be available as a transparent blue heavyweight 7” and 12” vinyl, as well as a direct-to-consumer exclusive 12” picture disc and a blue cassette single.

The album was a testament to the band’s newfound freedom after extricating themselves from a difficult management contract. This sense of liberation is evident in the album’s ambitious and genre-bending tracklist, which includes the hard rock of “Death On Two Legs,” the heartfelt ballad “Love Of My Life,” and the roaring “I’m In Love With My Car.”

Both reissues will be released by Universal worldwide, with Hollywood Records handling the US release.
