After a brief hiatus and a revitalized lineup, The Spitfires are back with their latest single, "I'll Never," and the official announcement of their sixth studio album, MKII, set for release on October 3, 2025. The new track is available now via Bellevue Music Recordings and comes as the band continues a celebrated run of UK tour dates.

"I'll Never" finds the band in peak form, blending their signature Hammond organ-fueled grooves with gritty guitars and propulsive rhythms. Lyrically, frontman Billy Sullivan delves into the difficult topic of addiction, a theme he says was inspired by the passionate response from fans during the band's recent shows. The track, which comes with a video directed by renowned photographer Lawrence Watson, explores how people, particularly men, use substances to numb their pain instead of confronting their mental health. "I'm not preaching," Sullivan explains, "I'm probably not all that different myself."

The upcoming 11-track album, MKII, marks a new chapter for the Watford-based band, which amicably split in 2022 before Sullivan reformed the group with a fresh lineup. Their renewed purpose has been on full display throughout a summer of successful shows, including a sold-out return to London's Koko. The band’s musical progression—from prototype to a "turbo-propelled" version—is evident in MKII, which also features previous singles "Better The Devil You Know" and "Where Did We Go Wrong?".

In addition to their new single, The Spitfires have confirmed a string of UK tour dates for October, kicking off with a special album release show at London's 229 Venue 2 on October 3. Tickets are selling fast, with three intimate warm-up shows in their hometown of Watford already sold out. The tour will hit major cities like Manchester, Nottingham, and Bristol, giving fans a chance to experience the new material live.
