Irish rock trio Ash have unveiled their latest double A-side single, "Which One Do You Want?" / "Fun People," featuring a special collaboration with Graham Coxon of Blur. The songs offer a preview of the band's upcoming album, Ad Astra, which is scheduled for release on October 3rd via Fierce Panda.

The new tracks showcase the band's range, from the sweeping jangle-pop of "Which One Do You Want?" to the towering, experimental riffs of "Fun People." According to drummer Rick McMurray, the former is one of the oldest songs on the album, a "perfect pop song" that has finally found its home, while the latter is one of the "maddest, punchiest songs" they've ever recorded, thanks in part to Coxon's unique guitar and vocal contributions.

McMurray hinted that "Which One Do You Want?" might be a signpost for the band's future sound, effortlessly straddling their past and what's to come. He also praised Coxon's involvement in "Fun People," noting how the guitar wizard's sensibilities perfectly complement the track's "angular angles" and polyrhythmic structure.

To celebrate the new material, Graham Coxon will join Ash on stage for their performances at The Scala in London on September 9th and 10th to play the new songs live.

Ad Astra, which translates to "to the stars," promises to be an optimistic and inventive album. It will feature classic Ash power-pop tracks like "Hallion" and "Keep Dreaming" alongside more experimental offerings. The band, celebrating over three decades in music, shows no signs of slowing down, with a busy touring schedule that included their eighth appearance at Glastonbury.
