London's enigmatic trio bar italia has announced their new album, Some Like It Hot, set for release on October 17 via Matador Records. The album title, a nod to the classic 1959 film, hints at the project's blend of romance, intrigue, and raw energy. Following a relentless schedule of writing and touring, this record marks a significant evolution for the band, moving from their underground roots to a more expansive, confident sound.
To celebrate the announcement, the band has released their latest single, "Fundraiser." The track is a kinetic rush of hook-laced guitars and dynamic vocals that showcases the band at their most exhilarating. The accompanying video, starring actor Matt King (Peep Show), is available now. "Fundraiser" arrives after the recent single "Cowbella," which garnered significant airplay on BBC 6 Music, further building anticipation for the new LP.
Some Like It Hot is the culmination of the unique synergy between band members Nina Cristante, Jezmi Tarik Fehmi, and Sam Fenton. The album promises a genre-bending mix of "lustful rockers, spellbinding folk pop, and punch-drunk ballads." The record reflects their journey from a shy, reclusive group to a commanding live five-piece, having played over 160 shows worldwide in the past two years.
In support of the new album, bar italia will embark on an extensive tour across the UK, Europe, and North America. The tour includes a sold-out album release show on October 18 at The Dome in London. Tickets for other tour dates are available now.
