Recorded at Innsmouth, Massachusetts' famed Gilman House on November 15, 2024, Live at Innsmouth captures Hermetic Science’s full 83-minute set, highlighted by a poweful rendition of the complete Deliria album, a radical reinterpretation of the classic Y2K suite "Against the Grain," and an incendiary closing performance of "The Second Coming." Not to be missed!
Formed in January 1996, Hermetic Science are one of the most innovative and unique bands to emerge from the 1990s prog rock revival. Originally a vibes power trio built around founder Edward Macan’s mallet percussion prowess, over the course of five studio albums the band evolved into a heavy keyboard prog band, although the debut album’s distinctive fusion of prog, psych, jazz, medieval, and Eastern influences has remained a touchstone of their musical identity.
Their output reached a new plateau of power and intensity with their 2023 studio album Deliria: a Chronicle of 2020, whose nine tracks capture in pitiless detail the madness, mayhem, and insanity of 2020, and this year’s Live at Innsmouth, which pairs a blistering rendition of the complete Deliria album with the similarly incendiary Against the Grain suite (from the 2001 album En Route) and the chilling The Second Coming (from the 2008 album These Fragments I Have Shored Against My Ruins).
