Semoha Homes unveils "Metropolis 1927 - 2025" album alongside reimagined Sci-Fi classic

Electronic artist Semoha Homes is set to release a two-part musical album, "Metropolis 1927 - 2025," on October 10, 2025. This ambitious project serves as the sonic backbone for a newly re-envisioned 82-minute version of Fritz Lang's iconic 1927 silent film, Metropolis.



Lang's original, a 2-hour and 28-minute masterpiece often hailed as the "mother of all SCI-FI movies" and a cornerstone of modern cinema, explored themes of social injustice, class division, and technology that remain highly pertinent today. Semoha Homes' reimagining aims to bring this historical work to contemporary audiences, replacing the classical score with custom retro-futuristic sounds to encapsulate the dystopian world. The film has also been transformed into a "sound novel" for a new immersive experience.

Semoha Homes shared insights into the album's creation: "This new project came to me when I had some time off. When I first saw the movie a few months ago, I realized its themes of the underground and higher society had parallels with my previous work. I felt the original movie needed adjustments to fit the current zeitgeist, not just in music but also in story, editing, and framing."

The first part of the album is now available to stream, featuring ten tracks that promise to transport listeners into this reimagined cinematic universe. The tracklist includes "Arawak Logic Zero One," "Probability Equation," "Empire Of Metropolis," and "Master Of Metropolis," among others.

This musical undertaking follows Semoha Homes' previous project, "Return To Planet Underground," which explored the interplay between modern underground music and narratives of scripture and colonization. His sound, influenced by early German electronic pioneers like Kraftwerk and the later German techno scene, brings a distinctive perspective to the reimagined Metropolis.
