Oasis have announced a special deluxe 30th-anniversary edition of their monumental sophomore album, (What's The Story) Morning Glory?. Due out October 3rd on Big Brother Recordings, this definitive release will feature five brand new unplugged versions of classic tracks, including 'Cast No Shadow,' 'Morning Glory,' 'Wonderwall,' and 'Champagne Supernova.' Fans can get a first taste today with the unveiling of the unplugged version of 'Acquiesce,' available to stream now.
Produced and mixed by Noel Gallagher and Callum Marinho at Noel's Lone Star Sound studio in London, these stripped-back interpretations offer a fresh perspective on the era-defining songs. The deluxe formats, available for pre-order on limited edition 2CD and 3LP sets, follow last summer's successful 30th-anniversary re-release of Definitely Maybe, which remarkably topped the UK Album Chart for a second time.
The anniversary edition boasts new artwork by original sleeve designer Brian Cannon and fresh sleeve notes. Exclusive colored vinyl options will also be available, including a 'Cast No Shadow' inspired Crystal Clear 3LP for indie stores, a 'Morning Glory' blue marble 3LP for HMV, a 'Wonderwall' sepia marble 3LP for Amazon, and an 'Acquiesce' neon orange 3LP exclusive to the official store. All formats will include the 2014 remastered version of the album alongside the new bonus tracks.
(What's The Story) Morning Glory?, originally released on October 2nd, 1995, propelled Oasis to global superstardom. It remains the UK's 3rd biggest-selling studio album of all time, with over 22 million copies sold worldwide, and was recently named the Official Most Streamed Album of the '90s.
