Cassandra releases new single "Prima Donna" a bold fusion of opera and pop

Rising Pop artist, Cassandra, is thrilled to announce the release of her latest single, "Prima Donna," now available on all digital streaming platforms. This captivating track showcases her unique blend of classical opera training and contemporary pop sensibilities, a genre she affectionately calls "Popera."
With "Prima Donna," Cassandra is stretching the limits of pop music, bringing the elegance of classical influences to the forefront of the mainstream. Cassandra shared that “‘Prima Donna’ is about owning exactly who you are and feeling untouchable. When you step into your power, nothing can bring you down or stop you from getting where you need to go. When I sent this idea to Nikki Flores, my brilliant producer and co-writer, she immediately laid down the beat you hear today, and we got to work. As I do in all of my music, I mentioned that I wanted to add opera into this song as well. Luckily, Nikki was ready for me to sprinkle some opera into the track, and we recorded me singing “Quando m’en vo” from La Boheme. I think this aria is a perfect example of being a Prima Donna as Musetta flaunts and captivates the room.”
The music video for "Prima Donna" was produced and directed by Ben Oakes of Ben Oakes Creative and will premiere on Music-News.com on July 3rd. Regarding the video, Cassandra stated, "This music video was electric from conception to the final product. Marissa Milele, my choreographer, and I worked on this choreography for weeks in advance with the dancers from Milele Academy, until we were ready for filming day. I’m so grateful for those girls. Their energy, love, and talent are incredible, and I’m grateful to call them my friends. Once we were ready, over a 15-hour day of filming, we captured the fun and power of “Prima Donna” from the costumes, to the dancers, to the laughs in between shots. I’m so excited for you to get to feel that today.”
While Cassandra is busy writing and releasing new pop music, she remains deeply connected to her operatic roots. Recently, she performed with the Nashville Opera as a soprano ensemble member in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor and has participated in the Opera Out Loud and Opera on Wheels Programs, showcasing opera and musical theater scenes across Tennessee.
Next, she is set to take the stage with the Omaha Symphony for their Fourth of July special, further solidifying her versatility as an artist.
