Following a blistering, sold-out performance at London’s Hoxton Hall and current dates across the pond in New York and Los Angeles, rock 'n' roll duo His Lordship have dropped the blistering title track from their critically acclaimed new album, 'Bored Animal.' The single arrives hot on the heels of the album's release last Friday via Psychonaut Sounds, and the band has simultaneously announced an extensive 11-date UK tour for November.
'Bored Animal' the album, hailed by Classic Rock as "Rock'n'roll, defined" and earning four stars from MOJO for "Superior tunes over-amped to perfection," is an electrifying collection of 11 short, sharp songs. Clocking in at a lean 38 minutes, the album was conceived and recorded live in less than two weeks at Edwyn Collins’ studio in the Scottish Highlands, then expertly mixed by the renowned David Wrench (Blur, Manic Street Preachers).
The new single, "Bored Animal," epitomises the band's streamlined, unpolished sound. Its clanging guitars and rattling drums launch the track like a "screaming bottle rocket," as described by the band. Guitarist/vocalist James Walbourne and drummer Kris Sonne tear through ferocious tracks like 'I Fly Planes Into Hurricanes,' 'Old Romantic,' and the tornadic noise rock of 'Weirdo in the Park.' The album also features an instrumental, 'Gin and Fog,' and sees Sonne contribute lead vocals on 'Derek E. Fudge.'
His Lordship's approach to 'Bored Animal' is refreshingly raw; they've embraced imperfections, believing "to leave something that’s a mistake is where the magic is." This philosophy results in a sound that, while taking cues from vintage rock 'n' roll, feels decidedly modern and visceral, delivering on the promise of early rock 'n' roll to leave listeners "viscerally thrilled, confused and hungry for more."
The newly announced UK tour kicks off in Edinburgh on November 6th, weaving through cities like Glasgow, Sheffield, Newcastle, Manchester, Brighton, Nottingham, Bristol, and Winchester, before concluding in Norwich on November 21st.
Tickets for the UK tour go on sale Thursday, June 26th, at 10 am BST and will be available via hislordship.net/shows.
