Blues-rock titan Joe Bonamassa ignites anticipation for his forthcoming studio album Breakthrough with the release of his explosive new single “Trigger Finger”, out now via J&R Adventures. Co-written with long-time collaborator Tom Hambridge, the track delivers gritty guitar riffs, high-octane rhythms, and Bonamassa’s unmistakable vocal edge, offering a defiant anthem of resilience and reinvention.

Produced by Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, The Black Crowes), Breakthrough—out July 18—was recorded across Greece, Nashville, and Los Angeles, blending diverse global influences into Bonamassa’s most stylistically varied work yet. “Trigger Finger” is the fourth track unveiled from the album, following title track “Breakthrough,” the introspective “Shake This Ground,” and the soulful “Still Walking With Me.”

With 28 #1 Billboard Blues albums and over 50 releases to his name, Bonamassa remains a trailblazer in the modern blues-rock scene. Breakthrough promises to cement his legacy as a genre innovator, pushing creative boundaries while staying rooted in blues tradition.

Bonamassa is also in the midst of a global tour, having just wrapped a European run with Black Country Communion. He returns to the road this summer with headline dates across Europe, including Montreux Jazz Festival and Bospop, followed by a major U.S. tour starting July 31 at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre. He’ll also appear at Bourbon & Beyond Festival in September before headlining the sold-out Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea Alaska cruise.
